Wow, I can't believe a month has passed since I posted here! Topic for today is Artist Trading Cards (ATC's). An ATC is a miniature work of art that only has one rule...it has to be 2.5 by 3.5 inches in size. Beyond that, anything goes. You can paint on them, stamp on them, do a collage, the sky is the limit. Personally, I have just started to get into ATC's and have done a few swaps. For those of you who aren't familiar with a swap, basically there are a certain amount of people, (let's say there are six), each person in the swap makes six of the same thing plus one more if you want to keep one for yourself. You then mail all your copies to the host (the person that is in charge of the swap). The host will then re-mail six different ATC's back to each person. Swaps are a great way to share ideas and to see everyone's unique style. Now you're probably wondering what you would do with them? You can collect them and put them in an ATC album, trade them again or frame a grouping of them and hang it on the wall.
In the picture above I made coffee themed ATC's for a swap (the ATC is on the right). This ATC is a mixture of stamping and embossing...and fresh coffee! I decided to go outside of the box and make my ATC's scented. I ground fresh coffee beans into a very fine grind and then glued the grinds into the stamped coffee cup.
