I loved all the paper piecing cards that showed up in the gallery last week for CAS-ual Fridays! There were tons of ideas :) This week there's a brand new challenge using ribbon!
We want to see your CAS projects using ribbon in a party theme!
Our sponsor this week is May Arts and they were kind enough to supply the Girl Fridays with a bag full of yummy ribbon in all sorts of colors and styles! I for one was extremely excited with the ribbon as you can't find a huge selection of May Arts ribbon here in Nova Scotia, thank you May Arts! Make sure you head on over to the CAS-ual Fridays blog to see what you could win!
For my card this week I wanted to try a technique that I've seen cropping up quite a bit lately. An aperture card featuring a shape or text with ribbon in behind as the color.
For this card I just printed out the letters HB in an outline font on white cardstock and then cut them out with a craft knife. Below the letters I stamped "let's party". After figuring out where the cut out letters were going to land on the card base, I adhered some ribbon strips horizontally on the card base and then placed the cut out panel over top with foam tape.
I'm looking forward to how everyone incorporates ribbon into their birthday themed cards. Be sure to pop on over to the CAS-ual Fridays blog too look at the inspiration and then play along!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!
