CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #3

My goodness the gallery was full of amazing entries last week, such clever ideas for the sketch last week.
This week we have another fun sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch for you to give a whirl and I must say, I really liked this one!

I'm behind in making my Hallowe'en cards, so I figured I 'd start with using this sketch for one of them. Here is what I came up with...

I used one of my sets I created for Market Street Stamps, Witching Hour and the bats are from the set Fall-O-Ween. I ended up with one additional layer for this card with the purple section and ended up popping it up with foam dots.

I can't wait to see the ideas everyone submits for this sketch, so pop on over to CAS(E) this Sketch and play along with us this week, we would love to have you join us!
Have a great crafty Thursday!

What's in the Jewelry Box?

Hello crafty friends! Starting today on Wednesdays I am going to have a new feature to my blog called What's in the Jewelry Box ? It will be a quick post on some jewelry piece I have made recently and on the following Saturday the featured piece will go up for sale in the jewelry section on my blog. Today's feature is all about fall!

The trees are such beautiful colours right now and if we don't get any wind or rain storms, the leaves just might hold on a little while longer, which leads me to my inspiration for this set of earrings I made.

I found these gorgeous lucite leaves in an array of colours online and thought they would look perfect paired with orange and red and a smidgen of yellow. The large red beads and smaller two-tone ones are Czech glass and what better colour to pair reds, oranges and yellows with than antique brass.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you're enjoying the beautiful fall weather!

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #2

Welcome back to another fun challenge with CAS(E) this Sketch this week! What an awesome gallery last week with all those fabulous CAS ideas! Here is the sketch for this week's challenge...

I LOVE one layer cards and I couldn't resist making another one this week using another new stamp set I illustrated called Fall-O-Ween. I stamped the large wind swirl first and then stamped the solid leaves in pretty fall colours and then stamped their outlines. To get the colourful sentiment, I used markers and coloured small sections horizontally and then stamped it. Finishing touch was trail lines for the leaves and movement lines.

If you haven't played along with us yet, we would love to have you come on over and give it a try! Remember you can flip or rotate the sketch for a different look too! I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with for this one :)
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Fall-O-Ween Milk Carton

Happy Monday everyone! Today I'm here with an itty bitty Market Street Stamps project using my new illustrated set Fall-O-Ween and one of the sayings from Stephanie's mini stamp set Fangtastic!
These would make perfect treat favors for a table setting or to give out, although that would be a lot of work if you had 100 or more trick or treaters knocking at your door :)

I used a milk carton die from Sizzix and started by stamping the base with the second smallest bat in black. Then I took a small framelit and cut the shape in white. Using a simple masking technique, I stamped the crow, pumpkin and wind swirl and then inked the edges of the frame in black. The sentiment was added by coloring it with a marker and then stamping it in sections (it was too long to fit across). I popped the small scene up off the milk carton using foam dots and added a small black mini clip to the top to keep the carton closed.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #1

CAS(E) this Sketch
The day is finally here! It's the first CAS(E) this Sketch challenge and what a great CAS sketch we have for you this week, check it out!

For my card this week I kept it real CAS and stuck with one layer and some straight forward stamping.

I used the stamp set I illustrated for Market Street Stamps, Nuts about Nature. I stamped the small open circle in Early Espresso ink across the bottom and then stamped the small dotted circle inside each circle using Cranberry Cobbler. I saved the second circle in to stamp the large acorn in the center using Cranberry Cobbler ink too. Final touch was stamping the sentiment and adding a few dry embossed lines.

The design team would love to have you play along with us this week, so be sure to stop by the CAS(E) this Sketch blog to peek at the rest of the design team inspiration and play along!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

October Block Party

Hello October Block Partyers and Happy World Card Making Day! We're having a party over at the MSS blog this weekend to celebrate the October release while we wait for our stamps. My stamps are on the way too and I promise I will post some samples as soon as I get them in my hands. I absolutely loved creating sets for Hallowe'en and Fall as they are two of my most fave occasions to paper craft with. In the meantime I have a very simple card using the large acorn form Nuts about Nature and some good 'ol fashion label maker tape.

I started with a white card base and then stamped the acorn in the colors cherry cobbler, cajun craze and more mustard repeatedly along the bottom. I used a label to make my sentiment and stuck it on.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian crafty friends!

*for CAS-ual Fridays post, please scroll down*

Wow! I can't believe a whole year has passed since World Card Making Day! The winners from last year have come together for a fun blog hop to give you some pre-World Card Making inspiration. If you 've come from Terri Davenport's blog you're on the right track :) We were asked to make a card in the category that we won in last year, so here I am with a CAS card for the Season's Greetings category. I decided to go with non-traditional Christmas colors using soft blues and purples and some bling!

Your next stop on the hop is Sharon Dunn and don't forget to stop by the Paper Crafts blog at the end for a surprise :)Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!Julie

For my card this week I made the sentiment the focus of my card with a clean pink base and some simple embossed lines to make a frame.

Market Street Stamps Fall Release

Well that was fast! They're ready for purchase already! I think fall and Hallowe'en are my two most favorite occasions to craft for and for this month I created 2 new sets and a set of mini backgrounds to go with one of the sets.

First up is Witching Hour.

This set contains 3 witchy images and a bunch of punny sentiments to go along with them. I've also included in this set the option to spell Hallowe'en with or without the apostrophe, just depending on the way you like to spell :)

The next set is my fave out of the three being released, Fall-o-ween.

LOTS of options in this set! There are quite a few 2 step stamping images in this set like the pumpkins, leaves and fence, so you have silhouette and line images. There are a couple sentiments for Hallowe'en and some for fall and the spelling option is there as well with the apostrophe for Hallowe'en.

And last but not least, the two mini Fall-o-ween backgrounds that correspond with the stamp set Fall-o-ween.

One mini background has bats and the word eek! and the other set has silhouettes of leaves with some detail. Both mini backgrounds match the bat images and leaf images in Fall-o-ween.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out Market Street Stamps for 3 more sets being released by Stephanie Washburn today! Don't forget all October release stamps are 15% off until Thursday, October 4th.

Market Street Stamps Sneak Peek - Fall-o-ween

Happy October everyone!
Today I'm sharing a quick post with a sneak peek for a new stamp set I illustrated under my new stamp line J.Day Designs with Market Street Stamps called Fall-o-ween. I love this set and the card I made only shows a fraction of the images in this set. I also have two other sets being released with this set as well, Witching Hour and two mini backgrounds that go along with Fall-o-ween :)

This set and the Witching hour set have a small apostrophe stamp included depending on how you like to spell Hallowe'en as well. Be sure to check out Market Street Stamps this week to see the full sets available for purchase!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Monday!
