CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #46- Feel like singin'?

What a great gallery last week for the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge! Time to put your thinking caps on for this week, it's going to be hard to narrow it down to just one idea for this challenge:)

We want to see your CAS projects based on your favorite tune! Our sponsor this week is Melanie Muenchinger who is a stamp illustrator and design team member for Gina K. Designs! Be sure to stop by the CAS-ual Fridays blog to see what you could win :)

For my card this week I had to clear my head and then pick the first tune that popped into my head and of course it was weather related lol (I'm a weather NUT) I didn't have very many stamps to go along with this song except for clouds and raindrops, so I drew a little stick dude to finish the card off. The sentiment is just had written too.

In case you haven't guessed the song, it's "Raindrops keep falling on my head" sung by Billy Joe Thomas.
I can't wait to see what creative ideas you come up with for this challenge :) Stop by the break room and check out the inspiration from the Girl Fridays and then play along :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Paper Pieced Decor

*For CAS-ual Fridays post please scroll down*
I have a little paper pieced decor item that I'd like to share as a reject from the latest Paper Crafts pub call. I'm kinda glad I didn't have anything chosen this time because now I get to keep them and I'm particularly fond of this one :D. May I introduce the Hallowee'en posse that will be hanging out in my house this fall.

It's a shadow box frame and I used the set Halloweenies from Paper Smooches. It was a lot of cutting out little pieces, but I love the way it turned out :)

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge Challenge #44 - 1-2-3

It's time again for another CAS-ual Fridays Challenge and this week it's as easy as 1-2-3!

We want to see your CAS projects that include a pattern, an image AND a sentiment.
Our sponsor this week is Clear and Simple Stamps who gave the Girl Fridays wonderful stamp sets to play with. Be sure to stop by the CAS-ual Fridays blog to see what you can win for a prize.

Since spring is right around the corner, I thought winter trying to hold on a little longer would make a good card. Here's my little snowman trying to stick around using an umbrella :)

I'm looking forward to the gallery this week as I loved last week's gallery. Be sure to stop by the blog and check out the design team inspiration and play along!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Practical Solutions for Paper Crafters

It's finally here! Practical Solutions for Paper Crafters that is. I was honored last year when I was asked to design for this issue and was shocked and thoroughly excited when Paper Crafts chose 5 of my projects :) Although I don't have the magazine in my hands yet, I know it's out there and I'm dying to see what's all in it plus find out what I did on page 39, thanks to Susan R. Opel's reference on facebook lol Here is one of my fave cards that I submitted for the Household Item section.

I grabbed the classified section from a newspaper kicking around (employment section to be exact) and made tape transfers using packing tape. Once the base was assembled I attached my sentiment to the card front using rubber bands.

I can't wait to get this issue , I've heard nothing but good things about it and have heard a lot of people running off to redo their craft space, so there must be some pretty fab ideas in there!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Love Kitty with Market Street Fresh Kits

Hello crafty peeps! Today I'm going to share a simple scrapbook layout with you using the January Market Fresh Kit from Market Street Stamps and the stamp set Simply Stitched Borders. It's been a while since I've scrapbooked and I've found that these kits make for a great base to get your mojo going. I kept it simple and used one photo that my daughter took of her cat Kiera.

I started with a plain cardstock base and then used some Smooch Spritz in the color blushing bride to add a touch of shimmer. The photo is large photo (6x8) and I wanted it to be the main focus, so I kept my embellishments minimal. The skewed frame is different papers from the kit and then I stamped some faux stitches in various places and along the cardstock edge.

For the title, I stamped the love heart image from the kit, but wiped the ink from the word birds before I stamped. I wrote the "i" and "my" with a black zig writer and added small stitches around the edge of the heart. The nice puffy alpha letters from the kit make up the rest of the title.

On two opposite corners of my frame, I stamped wavy stitches and added a button opposite the side with the title.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great crafty week!

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #43 - All about what you say

Happy Friday crafty friends! What a great gallery last week with all the wonderful baby cards :) This week we say goodbye to one of our design team members, Julie Ranae. Julie was the first person to introduce me into the design team world as I first became a designer on the Play Date Cafe followed by CAS-ual Fridays. Then some months later we ended up on the same team with Market Street Stamps. I have since left the Play Date Cafe and she recently left Market Street Stamps and now I have to say goodbye from CAS-ual Fridays. I will greatly MISS being on a design team with her. Julie is one terrific lady, with one of the biggest hearts out there and I believe she is one of the busiest women out there too! I know she has had many fab creative opportunities come up and I wish her all the best with those endeavors. You will be greatly missed and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for introducing me to the design team world and and all the wonderful people I have met through these opportunities :)

We want to see your clean and simple projects that uses your sentiment as the main focal point. Our sponsor this week is SRM Stickers! Be sure to stop by the CAS-ual Fridays blog to see what you could win. SRM Stickers provided the Girl Fridays with some awesome stickers to play with for this challenge :)

I used some strips to make borders on my card and then used a repeating sentiment for my focal point. Love how these stickers are clear!

The Girl Fridays can't wait to see how you put your sentiments to use as a focal point! Be sure to stop by the CAS-ual Fridays blog and check out the inspiration and then play along :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #42 - Oh Baby!

I must admit I giggled my way through the gallery this week and absolutely LOVED all the puny cards. I told my co-workers about some of the ones that stuck with me and they got quite a giggle too :) This week's challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays is all about those sweet little bundles of joy...babies!

The Girl Fridays want to see your CAS baby cards! This is guest designer challenge week, so in addition to a chance at that our sponsor, Simon Says Stamp is also giving away a great prize, so be sure to stop by the CAS-ual Fridays blog to see what you could win :)

This week I sifted through my stash of embellishments and decided to try and use something that has just been sitting there forever. I found some cute fabric brads that I decided to pair with a Papertrey Ink stamp set.

I need some ideas for some baby cards to add to my card stash, so I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with for this challenge.!Stop by the break room to see what the Girl Fridays have done to inspire you and then play along with us :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!
