Baby Basics - It's twins!

Well it has been a crazy week here, so my schedule has gotten a bit messed up with showcasing ideas for you this week using Baby Basics. I will be bumping the rest of the ideas to next week starting on Tuesday :) Today I have a very simple card to share that utilizes a one layer stamping technique topped off with some simple seam binding ribbon. The stamps I used from the set are indicated below with bold, black circles, four stamps in total.

Here is my one layer card with a touch of ribbon :)

I stamped the teddy bear twice with bordering blue ink and then stamped the sentiment over top. The ribbon is seam binding in the color daffodil delight. You can literally finish this card in 5 minutes it's that simple.
Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to check back on Tuesday for more ideas using Baby Basics!

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge- Banners and Flags

Friday is here once again and with it comes a brand new CAS-ual Fridays Challenge. There were so many wonderful splishy splashy projects in the gallery last week it was hard to choose! This week it's all about banners and flags!

Be sure to pop on over to the CAS-ual Fridays blog to see what fabulous prize you could win!
For my card this week I used my new stamp set I illustrated Nuts about Nature from my Market Street Stamps. I tuned my little triangle trees into flags!

I went with a teacher theme and used the Thanks and apple from the set too. See that cute little vase? I created the vase by masking the small triangle and small circle together and then colored it in with copics.
I can't wait to see all the flag and banner ideas that everyone comes up with and be sure to stop by the CAS-ual Fridays blog to see what the other Girl Fridays have for inspiration for you :)
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Nuts about Nature and Baby Basics - Christmas Tree Card

Welcome back crafty friends! Today marks the last day this week that I will be showcasing tips and ideas for the Nuts about Nature stamp set, but be sure to check back on Friday for my CAS-ual Fridays Challenge post as you will see one last idea for this set :) For today's card I used only three images from the Nuts about Nature set and I also used two images from Baby Basics. The stamps used are outlined in bold, black circles below.

I also used Essential Holiday Elegance for the sentiment as I didn't have a Merry Christmas in either set :) Here is the CAS christmas tree card I came up with.

I started by repeatedly stamping the large star on the background paper with the same color ink as the cardstock. For the tree, I stamped the solid triangle in green and then stamped the solid dot in red for ornaments. I stamped the trunk and star topper on the white panel first and then cut out the tree and popped it up using foam mounts. I used linen thread wrapped around the tree for a touch of simple garland. The sentiment was stamped in black and then I added faux stitching around the border with a piercing tool and espresso colored marker.

Thanks for dropping in this week to peek at my projects and thank you so much for the sweet comments! Be sure to stop by next week as I show you some different ways to use the images in Baby Basics :)

Nuts about Nature - Falling Snowman

Welcome back to another day using my new stamp set Nuts about Nature. The greatest thing I love about this stamp set is its versatility. Sure it's a stamp set based on nature images, but there is so much more you can do with the images. Today we're jumping ahead into colder months with a snowman card. The stamps used for this card are shown below in bold, black circles.

Here is what I came up with featuring a CAS snowy pair :)
I started with a blue card base and used the small solid dot inked with the same color as the cardstock to m make snow. Then I took two pieces of white, ripped them and glued them on for hills. The sentiment was stamped in black on one of the hills.

For the snowmen, I used the three different size circles and stamped them on white using a masking technique. For the face I inked some dots from the small dotted circle to make the mouth and the eyes are two dots from the large dotted circle. The nose was simple to make using the tip of the smallest triangle. I colored the tip of the triangle and stamped it and then used the base of the triangle to complete the mini triangle (see picture below for sample). The nose was colored in using markers, cut out and glued to the face.
I used the straight trunk for the arms, stamping it on the card base and then just drew extra limbs with the marker. I added some eyebrows to the snowman and gave the snowgirl some eyelashes and coloring to her cheeks using a sponge. After I popped up the snowmen using foam mounts, I added some movement lines around the boy snowman to make it look like he is falling :)

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check back tomorrow for another card featuring Nuts about Nature, I sense some Christmas in the air!

All about Trees

Today marks the first day this week in which I will be showing you different ways to use my stamp set Nuts about Nature. The images that I used for today's card are circled with bold, black circles shown below:

I love that there is a solid circle and an outline circle for the medium size and if I had of had more room I would have made solid circles for both the small and large circle too, but thanks to a super tutorial by the talented Amy Kolling, those extra stamps aren't needed :) To view the tutorial on Two-step stamping click here.

Here is what I did for my card. A cute trio of trees with an apple and a simple 'hi' sentiment.

To start off I used some thick white cardstock for my scene base. Using the wrong side of the small dotted circle I inked it up with pear pizzazz and stamped it on the left. Then I used the solid 1" circle and stamped it to the right. I then made a mask using post it notes to cover the two trees and then inked the wrong side of one of the 1" circles and stamped it for the large tree. The solid image will be a little less than the outline, but you can fill in the gap using a marker or sponging on ink.

After stamping the solid part of the trees, I stamped the outlines and the trunks. For the large tree I stamped the straight trunk and then drew a branch going the opposite way with a marker. The apple was stamped twice, once on the tree and once on white cardstock to be colored and cut out. I glued the cut out apple over the stamped apple as I couldn't cut around that itty bitty stem.

The background was supper easy. I just took a blue marker and did fast strokes going diagonally from one corner and then the opposite direction from the opposite corner, kind of like a crosshatch pattern.

I mounted the scene on red cardtsock and added a strip of grass along the bottom. The sentiment was stamped on white cardstock, inked with red and attached using a mini black library clip. Finishing touch was some faux stitching around the edges.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop back tomorrow for another idea using Nuts about Nature :)

Market Street Stamps August Release week - Day #2

Are you ready for sneak peeks for Day #2??!! I'm especially excited about today's release as I get to introduce my stamp line with Market Street Stamps...

I have two sets being released, Baby Basics and Nuts about Nature. I'm defintely a CAS kinda gal and I wanted to bring that into my stamp sets. Not only do I love CAS, but I also like versatility, which is why I LOVE the Nuts about Nature stamp set as there are endless possibilities you can come up with for the stamp images that go beyond just nature. Anyways, I have three cards to share with you today.

The first one utilizes Baby Basics and one image from Nuts about Nature (the poles).

For this card, I started with a clean white base and stamped my poles and clothesline to start. The baby socks are stamped on pink cardstock and cut out and yes those little old fashion clothespins are cut out as well. To make them look like they are actually pinned on the line, I made a small slit right above the clothesline and slide one side of the pin down behind the sock. Topped it off with some grass strokes around the poles and a sweet little sentiment.

This second card is one of my favorite pairings in the Nuts about Nature set.

I've turned simple triangles into a small forest, complete with a little birdie perched in one. The triangles would also make great banners! For this card I stamped the Woodgrain background from MSS on the card base and then layered some dark brown over top. I used a masking technique to make my forest and then layered that panel on top of the brown. I topped it off with a simple sentiment, wooden button and some twine.

My last card is a super easy CAS card featuring the Nuts about Nature set again.

I started with a white base and stamped the mini leaf (there's a left falling and right falling leaf) and colored in each one with markers. I stamped the sentiment at the bottom and then made trails for the leaves using a marker. Final touch was using a faux stitching tool along the edges and connecting the holes with a fine tip marker.

Stephanie Washburn has another set being featured today (which I have to buy because it is AWESOME) called Growth. Pop by the Market Street Stamps blog to get a peek at that set and see what the other girls have designed for samples for the other sets.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop back tomorrow for the final day of sneak peeks!

Market Street Stamps August Release Week Day #1

ARE YOU READY??!!! Here we go! First day of the Market Street Stamps August release week and WOWZA there are a load of stamp sets being released this week, a total of NINE stamp sets. I'm extra excited about this release week as we have 3 new illustrators along with Angelica joining in this month. Stephanie Washburn, Brenda Weaver and myself :) Today we're showcasing two stamp sets by Stephanie called Teacher Notes and ABC Text Background. The third set is by Angelica and it is called Great Big Greetings, an all sentiment set! Yay!

So, here is my sneak peek for the ABC Text Background.
As you all may know, I am a hard core CAS gal and I couldn't think of anything more CAS than this. I just couldn't resist circling all those "hi's" :)

My second sneak peek today is using the Great Big Greetings set, and in keeping with my hi/hello theme I came up with this card.
The "Here Comes the Sun" background is a perfect match to that great big Hello and add the word 'sunshine' from the set "Life is Beautiful" by Kim Geiser and you've got another quick and easy CAS card.

Make sure to stop by the Market Street Stamps blog to see all the other great sneak peeks from the rest of team and be sure to stop in tomorrow morning at the same time for the 2nd day of sneak peeks:)
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Market Street Stamps August Paint the Town Color Challenge

Happy Wednesday crafting friends! It's time once again for another Market Street Stamps Paint the Town Color Challenge and what a beautiful palette we have for you this month, check it out!

Isn't it such a soft, pretty color combo? This week I was Jinny Newlin inspired as Jinny always seems to make these perfect bow on her projects and I never do bows :) Here's what I came up with using Simple Salutations and Doily. I LOVE the new mini doily set, if you don't have this one yet, I highly recommend it.

My friend Lisa crochets and made me a bunch of flowers last year and it was pretty close to the wheat color, so I just had to use one. I topped it off with a matte button and added some seam binding for my ribbon. The design team at Market Street Stamps would love to have you play with us this month! I hear there are some great prizes to be won too!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #64 - What's that in the sky?

From colors to clouds this week at CAS-ual Fridays we are looking for clean and simple creations with things that you would find in the sky!

Our sponsor this week is the fabulous Simon Says Stamp so be sure to check out the awesome prize package over at the CAS-ual Fridays blog and don't forget it's Guest Designer search week! One of you will be designing with the Girl Fridays in the near future :)

For my card this week it was a no brainer as to what I was going to pick for my theme because I am a weather NUT! I'm the girl that gets excited when a thunderstorm rolls in and watches it in the big picture window and the NOAA website is visited by me at least once a day from June 1 - November 30. Did you know tropical storm Ernesto is brewing in the atlantic right now? Snowstorms and blizzards are equally as exciting as a hurricane and friends and family are no longer surprised when I go out in the middle of a storm just to take pictures lol . There is some weather that I have yet to witness, tornadoes being one of them.

I fell in LOVE with the Eco Friendly stamp set by Paper Smooches when I saw the tornado so I just had to use it for my weather themed card :)
The Girl Fridays can't wait to see what you come up with for this theme, the sky is the limit.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

More with Market Street Stamps

So you've used your Market Street stamps on cards, adorned those sweet images on your layouts and even made them shine in your paper 3D projects and gifts. What else can you do with your Market Street Stamps? How about wear them?!! Head on over to the Market Street Stamps blog to see how I made these cute bee earrings using the Life is Beautiful set by Kim Geiser.

If you're looking for a quick and easy tutorial on how to make the top part of the earring, you can find a good one here: How to wire wrap a drop earring. This is pretty much the same technique I used, except I cut the head off my pin and did a loop on both ends.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
