CAS(E) this Sketch #21

March is just flying by and I can't believe this is the last week of March already! We have another fun sketch for you to try this week at CAS(E) this Sketch from designer Lisa Arana, check it out...

For this week I went with simple stamping and solid cardstock layering and came up with this simple Easter card. I had originally wanted to stamp the sentiment "He is Risen", but my stamp was too big and not the right font shape for the card, so I went through all my Verve stamp bible verses to find a sentiment. I couldn't decide which one I liked the best or which one suited the occasion most, so I asked the opinion of my daughter and this is the one she chose :)

I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone does with the layers on this sketch and I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #20

Welcome back to another fun week at CAS(E) this Sketch! We have another fabulous sketch for you to play with, check it out!

I had so many ideas for this sketch...I really wanted to do a tea cup with a tea bag hanging out of it (stamping), but the stamp I thought I had, I didn't so I translated the pocket into a jar and the tag into a flower and here is what I came up with.

I had a lot of fun with this card as I got to use some techniques that I haven't tried in a while. For the flower, I colored the bloom with three different purple markers and that misted it with water before I stamped to give it a watercolor look. I mimicked the color scheme in the repeating sentiment to pull it together. The rest of the coloring was done with copic makers (still learning with these).
I hope you all join us this week and play along, I love going through the gallery and looking at all the fab ideas! Head on over to the CAS(E) this Sketch blog to garner some ideas and then get crafty :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #19

Welcome back to another week of CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge! We have another fun sketch for you to play with this week, check it out...

This sketch gave me the opportunity to try out some of my new Stampin' Up! products, my new hexagon embossing folder in particular. Here is what I came up with:

I embossed the hexagons and added some ink with a sponge to darken up the raised areas (kind of hard to see). The hexagon piece is mounted on espresso on a crumb cake base. The bee and sentiment stamp is also from Stampin' Up! Looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with for this sketch!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great crafty day!

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #18

Another week has just flown by, I can't believe we're ready for another challenge already at CAS(E) this Sketch! Check out the sketch for this week...

I dug into my chipboard stash and some leftover prizes from World Card Making Day and decided to try my hand at mixing some elements together. The houndstooth strip is a fab rip and the rest of the elements are from the 5 and dime collection from October Afternoon.

I've been enjoying looking at all the fabulous cards in the gallery these past few months, so keep the ideas coming! Be sure to stop by the CAS(E) this Sketch blog to see what the design team came up with and be sure to play along with us this week!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great crafty day!
