CAS(E) this Sketch #104

It's hard to believe that it is only 1 week until Christmas! This will be the last sketch to play with over at CAS(E) this Sketch until January 8th so you can enjoy your holidays, check it out...

I just had a few Christmas cards left to make and I have been enjoying using the Winter Watercolour set from Stampin' Up!, so I came up with this simple card.

There is lots of time to play along this time, so if you need some down time over all the hustle bustle of the holiday season make a card and load it up :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a very Merry Christmas!

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #101

Christmas is getting closer and for any crafter that makes holiday presents I'm sure you're all starting to feel the crunch as am I! Well, if you are working on Christmas cards, perhaps this sketch can help you out...

I went on another scrounge fest for my card and found some leftover rhinestone stickers (swirl and dots), a silver pen and the sentiments that were lying on my desk. The shiny silver paper is actually cardboard like paper that comes in the boxes of labels we have at the pharmacy where I work, so extra bonus on being free! A few snips and a few sketch lines here and there and you've got a simple ornament :)

We would love to have you come play along with us this week! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #99

Welcome back to another week at CAS(E) this Sketch! I hope everyone had a fun Hallowe'en! Check out the sketch we have for you this week...

You will probably see Christmas/Winter cards from me form here on out until the holidays are over. It  helps out with the stash I make in the long run :) I went very simple for this card. I used 2 strips of wash tape for the border and then stuck strips of wash tape to some white cardstock and die cut a snowflake and added some rhinestones to it. A quick stamp of a sentiment in black and a little snip with the corner rounder and you are done!

Welcome back to another week of CAS(E) this Sketch! Check out the fun sketch to try out this week, so many possibilities!

With Hallowe'en just around the corner I couldn't resist making a card for the occasion. I dug out my fave Hallowe'en colour combo; purple, orange and green and a Stampin' Up! set that I never got a chance to play with yet. Here is what I came up with...

The team would love to have you play along with us, so stop on over and load up a card or two!
Thanks for stopping by and have a safe and Happy Hallowe'en!

Welcome back to another week of CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge! I can't wait until this weekend as it is Thanksgiving her in Canada and I have all my cards done for that occasion as well. Check out the sketch to try this week...

I dug out one of my favourite leaf sets from Stampin' Up! for this card, did some simple 2 step stamping and then sponged in some colour to make an edge.

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #95

Welcome back to another week at CAS(E) this Sketch! The leaves are so pretty here with all the fall colours, even though they have changed a little early this year. Check out the sketch to play with this week...

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #94

Welcome back to another week at CAS(E) this Sketch! Check out the great sketch to try out this week, lots of ways to use this design for those upcoming holiday cards.

Designing cards weekly comes in handy when a holiday is approaching as it gives me the chance to make a few for that special occasion. Thanksgiving here is a mere 3 weeks away, so my cards for the next couple of weeks are join to be on the thankful side :) I grabbed anything that was remotely handy to make this card. My markers were out and a old CD case was nearby, so I coloured some stripes on the case and then stamped them on my card front. I used my trusty hand held label maker for my sentiment and added a little bling with some rhinestones.

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #93

Welcome back to another week of card sketchy fun! Check out the fun sketch to try this week at CAS(E) this Sketch!

Now that we have started to move into cooler weather, all the cards I want to make are fall oriented. Using a scrap of patterned paper, some cardstock, a few retired Stampin' Up! stamps and a bit of bling, I came up with this fall card.

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #92

Welcome back to another week at CAS(E) this Sketch! Check out the fun sketch to try out this week...

My desk is all cleaned up so I had to gather new supplies for this card. I dug out an old PTI set, and a heart punch. A simple one layer card using stamps and then I used the negative heart to sponge some ink around the birds.

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #90

Welcome back to another week at CAS(E) this Sketch! Today we say goodbye to a great design team member Gayatri Murali, so be sure to stop over to wish her a fond farewell. Check out the sketch for this week...

It's getting harder to scrounge items up off my craft table for each sketch, but I went digging in a pile and found a punch so I was good to roll. Unfortunately, my little table scrounging cards are going to come to end within the week because my room is slated for a good cleaning. It has gotten to the point where I just can't move in there lol. So, in finding some more scrap cardstock, a thank you word stamp, a punch, my trusty label maker and a pen and stamp pad of course, I came up with this card.

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #89

It's hard to believe that we are nearing our 100th challenge! Check out the sketch for this week at CAS(E) this Sketch by Leigh Penner...

I have a funny feeling that I am eventually going to get sick of the colors of cardstock left on my work table, but I am determined to use it all up! Here is my simple card using cardstock and a stamp.

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #88

Welcome back to the CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge this week, check out this great sketch by Donna Mikasa...

Sticking with my plan to use whatever is on my work table, I found a bottle of green paint, sentiment stamp and some cardstock. I used and empty packaging to make the large circle by dipping it in the paint and using it like a stamp. To make the two smaller circles I dipped the bottom and top of the paint bottle and stamped them. The random texture marks made it there accidentally when my kitty decided to come give my card some lovin'. A little bit of cardstock and some scraping got rid of the fur problem :)

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #87 and Tag! You're It!

This week we're shaking things up a bit with a double challenge! CAS(E) this Sketch has teamed up with the CAS challenge team Tag, You're It! Use the sketch and make a tag or a card with a tag on it and the best part is you have two weeks to create your project! Check out the sketch for this challenge...

Working with items I found on my work table again, I scrounged up some washi tape, ribbon pieces and just my luck I still had my people stamps out. Here is what I came up with...

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #86

Welcome back to another great week at CAS(E) this Sketch! Check out the fun sketch to try out this week...

Lately I have found myself crunched for time and thinking up card ideas seems to be getting harder, although that may have more to do with the AMOUNT of products I have. It seriously takes me longer to find the products for my card than it does for me to make it! So, I have decided I am going to just deal with the items that are already pulled out on my work table. I figure eventually I will use up all the stuff I have out and then I can pull more stuff out :) Here is my card this week using whatever I found lying around the work table (and yes I have pieces of stamp sets everywhere).

Hope you have a few minutes to play along with us this week too!
Thanks for stopping by and have an awesome crafty day!

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #85

Welcome back on this dreary, rainy day where I am, to another week of CAS(E) this Sketch. I can't complain about the rain though as this is the first real decent amount of liquid sunshine we have had in 5 weeks! Check out the fun sketch to try this week...

I decided to go with a tried and true technique for my card this week, paper piecing! I used products that were already pulled out and stamps that didn't get put back from the last round. A simple paper pieced rose with a bit of ink added to the flower outline to give it a bit of depth.

We would love to have you play along with this week! Lots of inspiration over at the blog to get your card mojo going :)

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #84

Welcome back to another week at CAS(E) this Sketch! Check out the fun geometric design to try this week...

I dug out an older set that I designed for Market Street Stamps for this card as it had the circles I wanted for my idea. I used 3 colours from Stampin' Up!; rich razzleberry, melon mambo and pumpkin pie. Accent circles, leaves and sentiment were stamped with black.

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #83

Welcome back to another week at CAS(E) this Sketch! It's been a busy week here as everyone is scrambling for a possible hurricane landfall, but there was still time to make a card :) Check out the great sketch for this week...

I dug out a Stampin' Up! set that I haven't seen in awhile and did a little watercolouring on the image (note to self: use staz-on ink to stamp image) Any mistake can be covered up with a bit of bling though :)

We would love to have you drop by the blog and join in on the fun!

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #82

Today we say goodbye to design team member Jen Wills :( Today is her last sketch with us over at CAS(E) this Sketch and I'm sure she would love to have you join in this week, check out the sketch...

I was going to go literal with a monster stamp and a heart, but then when I dug through my stash I found a cute generic boy/girl stamp that I forgot about. I still had my wooden hearts out from last week, so I inked one of them up with red and stuck it between them :)

Come on over and join in the fun this week!

CAS(E) this Sketch and Fusion Challenge

This week the CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge is pairing up with Fusion Challenge, check out the fun idea board...

For my card I took a bit from both idea boards. Following the sketch and then using white and gold for my colours. I used white on white and added wood veneer hearts that a painted with a gold rub. For a bit of continuity, I rubbed some gold over part of my sentiment.

We would love to have you play along with us this week, so stop on by and join in the fun!

CAS(E) this Sketch #80

Well the weather is finally getting warmer here, perhaps spring will come before summer arrives :) Check out the sketch we have for you this week to play along with over at CAS(E) this Sketch...

I'm still on that paint chip kick, so I went for hues of purple and made this colour blocked card with an itty bitty sticker sentiment.

CAS(E) this Sketch #79

Welcome back to another great week of CAS(E) this Sketch! We are having a joint challenge with Iron Craft this week! Check out the sketch that Chrissy Larson has made for us this week...

I still had my pile of paint chips out from last week so I just dug into that stash again. I took one chip and cut it into strips and one shade from a second chip and then arranged them in ombre like fashion. I used a darker chip color to block of the rest for my sentiment and the sentiment is a rub-on I found in my letter stash.

What's in the jewelry box?

Over the past couple of months I have been expanding on some of the bead weaving techniques I've learned and trying new stitches out. I recently had the chance to attend the Maritime Bead Festival, here in Nova Scotia and took a couple of classes. The soutache course I took was a bit too advance for me, but the peyote stitch netted Swarovski crystal course was right up my alley, I LOVE the earrings made in that course. Here is a sample of some of the earrings I made for my spring show.

The set on the left is a small beaded star pair using black seed beads and small silver pearls. The middle set is a fan earring and has a mix of seed beads and pearls and the last set is made with seed beads, Swarovski bicone crystals and crystal drops.

CAS(E) this Sketch #78

Another week has flown by and we're almost into June! I hope it's warmer wherever you may be as we are still waiting for spring to arrive here :( Let's have a peek at the sketch to play with this week...

It's funny how you can get stumped by your sketch. I went in search of the original card for this sketch, thinking that I could make something similar, but the original card was a little too busy for CAS. After playing around with numerous ideas and trashing all them, I finally went for my no-fail paint chips. A few quick snips, glue, a stamp and some staz-on and a card was made.

We would love to have you play along with us this week. So pop on over for some inspiration and play along!

CAS(E) this Sketch #77

Another great sketch to try out this week at CAS(E) this Sketch, check it out...

I dug into my stamp stash and found I set I hadn't used yet. I paired the stamp images with 2 of my recent fave ink colours; crisp cantaloupe and coastal cabana.

Stop on over to the blog for some inspiration and play along with us this week!
