Paper Smooches April Challenge

I've been meaning to make a few cards for the Paper Smooches April Challenge, which is all about showers!  With an upcoming bridal shower for a friend I figured now was a good time to play along!

For my first card I went very simple with a pale blue and white sheer ribbon. It's hard to tell in the photo, but the little diamond is glazed with glitter. I used the "Simply Said" and "Little Lady" stamp sets for this card.

For my second card I went with literal rain showers and used images from the stamp sets "Eco Friendly"and "Metropolis" and a sentiment from the set "Sentiment Sampler". I coloured the images with copic markers and added some gloss liquid to the raindrops (which is kind of hard to see in the photo).

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

A little bit of Paper Smooches

For my last card today, I needed a birthday card for my niece, so I decided to dig out my Paper Smooches stamps and play with a new die I just got from L'il Inker Design.

I stamped the sentiment repeatedly on the card base panel with the same colour ink as the cardstock. The bird is stamped on the blue cardstock and then I stamped him again, coloured him with copics and cut him out to pop up off the other stamped image for dimension. I added a few squiggle lines to make him look like he is dancing around, after all birthdays are a happy occasion!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great crafty day!

CAS on Sunday Challenge #106

The challenge this week over at CAS on Sunday is to use a stencil and I had one lone stencil just waiting to be used. Here is what I came up with using a ray texture stencil from Memory Box.

I sponged the stencil with yellow and then used a stitched die for the panel. The sentiment is a die cut from L'il Inker Designs. Finishing touch was some clear enamel dots from Your Next Stamp.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Your Next Stamp Challenge #61

Have you ever stumbled across across a stamp set and fell immediately in love with it?! That is exactly what happened when I stumbled across the Your Next Stamp website and saw a set from their April release! This is the stamp set I HAD to have!

As soon as I saw that little fish near the top, with the big sucky lip, I had a card idea that I wasn't going to be able to shake until I had this set. Soooo, my stamps arrived today and just in time to play along with challenge #61 on the Your Next Stamp blog. Check out the sketch...

There is a colour challenge as well and I would have combined the too except the colours didn't match what I had in mind. Here is what I came up with using the sketch...

This fish worked out perfectly for flipping the image to give him a girly fish to kiss. To flip the image, all I did was stamp the fish on the backside of the fish bowl stamp where it was sturdy (side that clings to block) and then pressed it down on the white cardstock. I had to try it a few times until the image inked up right. I couldn't flip the die that matched of course, so I opted to hand cut the fish out.

Love the YNS gumdrops too, such a fun touch!
Thanks for stopping my and have a great crafty week!

CAS(E) this Sketch #216

Today I'm playing along with the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge and they have a great versatile sketch this week. Check it out...

The lines on the this sketch for whatever reason made me automatically think of washi tape, so that's the idea I went with!

I started with a grey card base and than adhered stripes of washi tape at various intervals. The sentiment is stamped and for the hearts I used a heart punch on a strip of washi tape.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

You Totalally Rock Card

Fab Friday Challenge #109

The Fab Friday Challenge had a great sketch this week! Check it out...

I went with mostly Stampin' Up! products for my card and dug out another set that I haven't inked up yet, "Bright Blossoms". Here is what I came up with...

I used an embossing folder on the card front and stamped the flowers with Stampin' Up! markers. My one pet peeve about ink markers is, if a fuzzy gets on the stamp from the marker, then you end up with "hot spots" of ink on your image. The sentiment is a die cut from Paper Smooches.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Thank You Flower Card
Cardstock: Stampin' Up! (old olive, whisper white, basic black)
Patterned Paper: Stampin' Up! (bright blossoms)
Stamps: Stampin' Up! (bright blossoms)
Ink: Stampin' Up! Markers (poppy parade, old olive, rich razzleberry, island indigo)
Embossing Folder: Stampin' Up!
Die Cut: Paper Smooches (thank you)

Here come the bunnies!

Today I'm playing along with two challenges that went quite well together! Over at the Paper Players challenge there is a theme challenge; Easter Bunny. The Less is More challenge this week is to use 3 pastel colours.

I was fairly shocked when I could only find 1 rabbit in my entire stamp collection! I guess I will have to get my hands on some more easter stamps to have a bit of variety 😀 I tried out water colouring today, which I haven't done in a very long time. Here is what I came up with using pink, purple and yellow.

I stamped the bunny repeatedly with staz on ink on a piece of watercolour paper and then I used a paint brush to gather colour off the tip of some watercolour pencils and then washed the colour over the stamped rabbits. The rabbit layer is layered once with yellow and then adhered to the card base with foam dots. Finishing touches were a banner sentiment and a button with a bakers twine bow.

I've also been making bunny earrings today! I had a lady that really liked my bright yellow bunny earrings I was wearing the other day and asked for a pair. She loves the colour pink, so pink bunnies it is! Instead of the bright pink I usually make them in I went with a more vintage pink and vintage brass niobium ear hooks; she loves vintage too!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great crafty day!

Tag You're It! Challenge #68

I was very happy to see the featured artist over at the Tag You're It! Challenge to be none other than Gayatri Murali! Her and I served on the CAS(E) this Sketch team for a while together and I love her work. Here is the tag she made to inspire us...

Isn't this tag adorable! I was inspired by the patterned background, the cute animal and the sentiment being split into 2 sections. Here is what I came with using a retired Stampin' Up! set...

I will admit being away from the card making scene for almost a year, I haven't jumped completely on the die bandwagon. Or I should say I usually forget about using them and just fussy cut lol. I think my hands would thank me though if I just used the dies! Anyways, the cute little skunk was stamped and coloured with copic markers and then cut out (I'm shocked that I somehow managed NOT to cut the flower off 😂) I don't have in my possession yet any of the fabulous stitched dies from L'il Inker Designs so anything that remotely looks like stitching is done with a ZIG pen.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great crafty day!

Fusion Card Challenge

I'm getting to the point where I am sick of seeing snow and I'm a winter person! When I came across the Fusion Card Challenge this week and saw the inspiration photo, I had to play along. A cheerful, spring card was just what I needed to chase away the winter blues!

I somewhat used the sketch as well, but I ended up tweaking a few things. It was the flowers that inspired me from the photo.

I wanted to try out my copic markers again (don't know if I will ever get the hang of them) and these cute little flowers from Paper Smooches seemed like a good stamp to try them out on. For the pink colour strip, I put two post it notes on my card base and then sponged the ink colour in between. The clouds and butterfly are popped up with foam dots at varying heights.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope it looks like spring wherever you are!
